S004

Beam to column with end-plate and arriving bracings. Bolts may be placed inside and/or outside of the beam profile flanges. This joint is the braced version of S001. If desired, you can check bracing connections, and combine this sheet with a S002/S003 sheet.

Parameters:

S004 has several singular parameters related to column position stiffeners and beam position. You can choose the eccentricity of the beam related to the plate (g1 and g2). Also, the beam profile rotation from its centroid. There is a checkbox. If marked, four stiffeners will be taken into account and eventually created in Tekla.

The column position dropdown allows you to restrain this joint to be applied only to a beam-to-web or beam-to-flange connection. Calculations and Tekla results will be afected.

Also, you can define four arriving bracings. Arrows indicating the side, not the "arriving direction". This may be confronted to your notion of arrow.

Identifier Description Choices Units
Stiffeners If checked, four stiffeners will be created Checkbox None
Column Position Part of the column is connected to the beam Any position
Bolts at flange
Bolts at web or cut
None

Also, you can define four arriving bracings. Arrows indicating the side, not the "arriving direction".

Identifier Force Description Choices Units
If checked, a bracing in this side is placed None
P ULS ULS Axial load from each bracing None kN
P SLS SLS Axial load from each bracing None kN
Angle Angle between bracing and beam as drawing description None º

It is important to mention that bracings set up does not need to be the same as found in Tekla. You can calc with the worst forces (bracings), and apply this calc with the plugin to different bracings set up, but always finding the same column/beam pair.
